OUR STORY
We are a self-funded 'not for profit' local Charity which was established over 35 years ago and provides a vital facility for older people in the surrounding areas. The Centre is staffed by volunteers and is open Monday to Thursday and provides a warm, friendly and welcoming environment, delicious home cooked lunches, and refreshments, as well as door to door transport for those less mobile clients and a wide range of activities. Many people simply use the Centre to make new friends.
Each weekday Afternoons, visitors can enjoy activities including whist, bingo, cards, scrabble and entertainment on Monday's and Thursday's with a wide range of entertainers including singers and choirs.
Based in the Centre of Hockley (within the Southend Road Library Car Park) , as well as Hockley and Hawkwell, we have clients from Rayleigh, Rochford, Ashingdon and Hullbridge.

A LITTLE EXTRA
A PLACE WHERE EVERYONE IS WELCOME AND EVERYONE IS LIKE FAMILY.
We are a registered Charity serving the local community providing a social lunch and activity club for the older residents in our local area.
The Charity was established and, following an ambitious fund raising campaign, the Centre was opened over 35 years ago by the Duchess of Kent.
The Centre is staffed by volunteers and door to door transport can be arranged for you or your loved ones, within the areas of Hockley, Hawkwell, Rayleigh, Ashingdon and Rochford.

Our transport caters for clients with any level of mobility, including wheelchair access.
The centre provides a warm and friendly atmosphere for you or your loved ones to meet new and existing friends.
We are open Monday - Thursday from 10:30 am where tea, coffee and cakes or scones can be enjoyed.
Booking a meal for lunch cannot be easier, simply phone us on 01702 206208 by 9.30am on the day.

Our delicious, home cooked 2 Course Meals are available for a small cost ( We cater for Vegetarian and Diabetic needs) and transport is available for a small voluntary contribution.
We are open every weekday (excluding Fridays & Bank Holidays).
